I am looking for a way to troubleshoot a problem that many of my clients are
having.
When a person double-clicks a MS office file name, that part of Windows
appears to hang up for up to five minutes. They can continue to work while
that part of Windows appears to hang by opening Word or Excel and then
opening a file. In fact then can even open the file that they have
originally double-clicked on.
All other open applications seem to work at normal speed.
If you enter Task Manager and delete the application and then double-click
the file again, you are back where you started, hung and waiting.
After a long time, what ever the double-clicked application needed to
resolved is completed, the application finishes opening and works at normal
speed. Once the file is opened you can close the file and the application
and double-click on that file once again, but this time everythings works at
normal speed.
