Windows Task Manager

I cannot open windows task manager. It will flash the
task manager screen and the close right after it flashes.
i cannot do anything in task manager. What can i do to
fix this?

Possible try:
MS-MVP Kelly Theriot has identified this problem as resulting from a
"MSConfig"="MSCONFIG35.EXE" entry in the
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run] Registry
key. Delete the entry.

There are also some viruses which present with this type of failure. Some
have found success with a proper virus scan.

Norton Ghost also admits this is a condition of that install, if you have
that product.
