I am looking for a way to troubleshoot a problem that many of my clients in
my office are having.
When a person double-clicks a MS Office filename such as a Word file or an
Excel file, that part of Windows appears to hang up for up to five minutes
with an hour glass showing. During that hang time, however, if that person
continues on and opens that same MS application such as Word or Excel and
then tries to open that same file that they double clicked on, the files
opens immediately.
All other open applications seem to work at normal speed.
If you enter Task Manager and delete the application and then double-click
the file again, you are back where you started, hung and waiting.
After a long time, what ever the double-clicked application needed to
resolved is completed, the application finishes opening and works at normal
speed. Once the file is opened you can close the file and the application
and double-click on that file once again, but this time everythings works at
normal speed.
I was advised and tried to implement the following help from Microsoft with
no success.
This usaully only happens once a day to each person in the morning. I do not
have any idea of how to troubleshoot this problem.
