windows\system32\netdll32.exe messages after boot

After booting my computer I receive two windows
messages: the first is a (X) message regarding the
C:\windows\system32\netdll32.exe file, and the second is
a (!) message which says "could not load or run
c:\windows\system32\netdll32.exe specified in the
registry-make sure the file exists on your computer or
remove the reference to it in the registry." These
messages came after a Trojan virus detection &/or
removal. I have since reinstalled the windows xp pro
oprating system, but I still get this message. What
should I do?

Hi Joe,

I'd say offhand that your antivirus removed the offending file, but not the
reference to it.

Start/run regedit. Navigate to this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Look for a string that references netdll32.exe in the right-hand pane and
delete it.
