Windows System Error

Several times I have gotten the following message and have to do a total
reboot:

Windows System Error
There is an IP Address conflict with another computer on the network.

I am not on a network and don't know what to do to correct this from
happening almost daily. I have a stand alone computer and connect to the
computer thru cable but they say it isn't because of that. Any assistance
would be appreciated. Thanks
