Windows System 32

Can anybody help me out. I keep getting the following message pop up in a
dialogue box on my desk top.

" C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM 32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for
running MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows applications. Choose "Close" to
terminate the application"

The dialogue box has two buttons on it. "Close" and "Ignore". It doesnt
matter which option I choose my PC all but crashes. This has been happenning
for about a month
This message pops up at random but most of the time when I am using WORD or
EXCEL or printing.

Has anybody had anything similar ???

Thanks "Bob I" I have run Spybot S&D and it found 127 problems. I cannot
understand this as I have Norton Internet Security installed ! I cannot
seem to find the free adaware you mentioned from the link. I will have to
wait and see if the Spybot does the trick.

Thanks for your help

Anti-Virus is not going to stop, or see trojans or other malware like that.

As to Ad-aware, grab the "Personal" version, thats the "free" one for
personal use.

I can, Norton sux for anything other than AntiVirus, and of course,
spy/malware is not a virus.

Never rely completely on one piece of software to protect your pc
use multiple as one can and does miss things, I also use an online free AV
scan from time to time, just to be sure.
