Windows Startup problems

When I turn on my computer, my wallpaper appears, but then nothing else
starts. I don't see any icons or the bar on the bottom. It seems that
explorer.exe isn't starting up for some reason. I can't get internet
explorer to start using the taskmanager, either, although programs like AIM
will start. Does anyone know how I can fix this? A friend of mine said that
i have to look at the programs that are starting before explorer.exe, because
they may be stopping it from starting.

Hi Greg,

This generally has to do with updated display drivers, etc. In the
meantime, either end process on explorer.exe and restart or:
