Your question (and goal really) make no sense to me.

You can distribute whatever you want via the Internet/Web.

I'll not recommend anyone using a patch 'rolled up' by anyone other than the
manufacturer of a product. Sure - it would be nice for Microsoft to release
an update rollup at the very least at this point - for those who frequently
install the OS - but in general - most people will do just fine with
windowsupdate and/or those who really need it will just integrate SP2 and
all the post-sp2 patches they can directly into the installation media.

Ok. i've collected all post updates
and made a self installer that make the dirty work.
Could i distribuite it via web?

Like Beta, mentioning that the updates are from Microsoft?

That is so cool... why didn't I think of that...

lets see.. a bunch of updates, untested, unqualified because you
aren't a qualified programmer, and you're offering it to a
newsgroup.... smells like a virus waiting to happen to me....

Um... No thanks... i'll keep my computer safe if you don't mind... and
btw, keep your 'home-made' software to your self...

Are you asking from a LEGAL standpoint or what?
No one here (peer-to-peer newsgroup) will be able to answer you with any
authority.

Again - as I said before - from a technical standpoint - you can distribute
whatever you want via the Internet/Web.

Red, you didn't understand.

I take all bunch of Microsoft KB files, and made LOCAL windows update
program that check dll,
made upgrades to Pcs OFFLINe.
Useful if you have 100 PC to update without adsl....

Why download 50Mb x 100 (5Gb) when you can save them in a 128 pen drive???

Lol.

You may do this for your own use, but the Microsoft lawyers may get
interested in any "redistribution" of the Microsoft property.

Well, not if i distribuite only my installer, and the KB are downloadable
by MS website

As you don't seem to comprehend what I told you. Please read this
section from the KB download area very carefully especially the last 2
sentences.

international copyright treaties, as well as other intellectual property
laws and treaties. The SOFTWARE is licensed, not sold. All rights not
expressly granted herein are reserved. This AGREEMENT grants you the

Are you asking whether it's permissible, or legal?

I don't know. Ask Microsoft.

But from a practical point of view, it's a nonsensical thing to do. I
would never download it, nor advise anyone else to do so. Updates
should be downloaded from Microsoft, and never from anyone else.Your
intentions may be (and probably are) completely honorable, but it
would be foolhardy for anyone to assume that you have no malicious
intent or that what you did was free of errors.

Not to accuse you of anything, but it's very important for people to
do everything they can to minimize the risk to their systems.
Downloading Windows updates from nobody but Microsoft is one way to
minimize that risk.

I hear what you're saying... I've downloaded patches before from
www.softwarepatch.com because I had illegal copies of OS's... but
after awhile, it got to be more of a hassle remembering what kb I had,
which patches had been and hadn't been applied....

IOW, for your own systems, that sounds like a great time saver...

....but certainly, don't expect anyone who isn't skeptical already, to
buy into it...

Sure. Knock yourself out.

No one but a moron - and you probably know who that might be more than
most anyone here - would download it.
