Windows Sorting...yet again.

I've looked everywhere, but I couldnt find anything that helped me.
What I want is simple; the old windows sorting system..

here's what I mean..

My current sorting (in music folders):

What I want, permanently:

I think this is caused by the 'folder customizations' feature which
automatically determines what majority of files are in the folder, then
assigns an annoying sorting key to the right-click menu (such as
artist, album, year, etc). I just want the basics. Is there a way to
turn this off permanently?

Open the folder. Click the View menu, and select Choose Details.
Uncheck the properties that you want to hide.

I've done that, but it wont retain these properties when I close and
open the folder. And its even a bigger problem with 'open-file
dialogs'..

Try resetting the folder settings and then customize again. If not, see:

Control Panel, Folder Options, View tab.

ah...that did the trick for the folders....but there's still the
problem of the 'open-fle dialog', which still sorts files in some other
key other than the default; name.
