Windows Sidebar

I recently had my laptop for christmas when i first loaded it up the sidebar
was here, however i connected it to my router ,and i have not been able to
load sidebar every attempt i have tried to load it, it does not work. It
simply says that "windows sidebar is managed by your system administrator",
and yet i am the only person who uses the laptop, i am the administator and
have not chnged a single thing :s i have no idea what to do. Can someone help
me please
