Windows Services to activate for a LAN

Hi,
I have 2 pc connected by an ethernet card with a crossed cable. I have to
know which services I must activate to make it to function correctly cause
I have disabled many of those that was unnecessary before I created my LAN.
And, if you could let me know some other tips to improve my connection I
would be very happy.

You will need to enable client for Microsoft network and file and printer sharing. this search result may help,
