Windows service pack 3 refresh

I cannot install this program it gets to the point that it is finishing
installation and says it is running processes and it just seems to hang there
for about 45 minutes and during that time my memory goes nuts and drops from
1200 to 1 up and down aprox every 5 minutes then finally I get different
error codes and the program says it cannot install and shuts me down, then I
need to use it's restore point to get rid of it. I have tried 4 times. This
update keeps showing up for me even though I checked it not to do so. That
did prevent it from downloading and asking me to install it thank God. I
contacted microsoft and was told that the current sp3 is not for xp home
addition and shows up by mistake and will be out soon but did not say how I
would recognize the new update for home edition beings the other one shows up
when I check for updates. anybody have any more information on this?
I am running windows xp sp2 home edition and IE7
Thanks

sp3 is an update file and
not a program.

if you screwed up your
machine, then go into
safemode and initiate
a system restore.

I did not screw up my machine it still runs great I was able to restore it
perfectly
I was just trying to see if others running home edition are having the same
problem or if it was just me!

That "-- " is the sigdash delimiter to identify when you signature
starts. That means EVERYTHING after that line is your signature. Put
your signature at the *bottom* of your post, not at the top. Many
newsreaders can be configured to ignore signatures, and that means
everything you pushed after your signature gets ignored.

No, you weren't checking on other people's experience. You asked for
"more information" which meant YOU wanted help installing and struggling
with *BETAWARE*. You chose to install betaware. If you are unwilling
to be an unpaid beta tester and don't have the skills to do so then
don't do so. Test betaware on a test platform, not on your critical,
production, or only platform.
