windows server keeps shutting down

When I boot up a win2k svr I get to the windows login and
after about 60 seconds the windows shuts itself down. If
I just leave the screen alone it shuts down, if I logon
as anyone it will log you on but will shutdown after 60
seconds. I have the latest NAV loaded & have no viruses
anyone one ever had this problem. It will be major work
to rebuild this server.

Have you checked every single Power Saving setting this server has :
BIOS, Windows Screen Saver, etc.., etc...

Also, it may be that you do not have a CPU/case fan that is strong
enough, or it has failed, and the heat of the CPU reaches critical
levels and forces a shutdown because of the way the BIOS is
configured. We have seen this many times : a PC gets upgraded from,
say, a 700MHz CPU to a 2.5GHz or 3GHz CPU, but nothing in the case is
updated, and we find that the PC is internally 20C to 30C hotter - no
kidding ! And it shuts down too ! A change of case to a more
modern case which has a 12cm, and possibly another fan, dual-fan PSU
as well, and, suddenly, your PC/server is instantly cooler, happy, and
does not shut down ..........
