I keep getting the above error. I've tried the rebuild from the Recovery part
of the installation CD yet the error will contunually come back - sometimes
tens of times a day - and without the computer being switched off.

There will be a sudden activity of the hard disk and when I click the
control panel for example half the options have gone. Or click office outlook
it wiil claim it cannot load due to missing files.

I've tried a totally virgin install with genuine software yet it still
happens. I've tested the laptop via the manufacturers website and it says all
is ok.

Its driving me potty, can anyone help?

Did the mfg's utility perform an extensive RAM and harddrive test?

If not, run some independent tests

I hadn't but downloaded the disk manufacturers extensive test and they
reported no problems.
