I have a Dell Poweredge 2300 server that I'm running XP Pro on. I
have been told that Dell does not support Windows XP on this machine,
that it was intended for NT, so maybe this problem has something to do
with the BIOS !???

The system has 512K memory on board, and reports so when booting, but
XP indicates that it has only 128K of memory.

Any thoughts as to why & how to fix it?

Thanks,
Scott Kelley

Check in the Poweredge 2300 BIOS settings to see how much memory has
been devoted to video, if any.

Most large PC makers only design/test systems for the OS they come with.
Yes, often you
can change/upgrade and if you're lucky, find drivers for the proprietary
hardware.

XP is the latest version of NT, so that should *not* be a consideration

Make sure that this is what is said if you go to Control Panel - System,
bottom line on General Page. The System Information tool has a bug and
is inclined to give wrong answers.

If that is OK, Start - Run and run MSConfig.exe
On the BOOT.INI page, click Advanced Options and see if /MAXMEM has been
checked - if so, uncheck it
