One common cause of frequent instances of registry corruption is
defective RAM.

Download one of the following free memory test utilties and run an
extended (e.g. overnight) test of your RAM.

DocMemory http://www.simmtester.com
Windows Memory Diagnostic http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
Memtest86: http://www.memtest.org

Good luck

Or it could be a sign of a defective hard disk. run a disk scan looking for
bad sectors, if you find any replace the hard disk.
