Windows product activation

I have been using my computer for about a year. lately i
had been having many problems with spyware and viruses.
About three days ago I got the message "This copy of
windows must be activated with microsoft before you log
on . activate now?" and even if i click yes or no- itll
bring me to the screen where u click owner and then the
message will pop up. Another error message is telling me
that theres a problem getting the license for the windows
XP. I cannot get logged on to windows at all because of
this problem. I have no clue what to do and I cant get my
XP Product number to get tech support because i cannot log
on my computer. does anyone know how to fix this?

Hi,

Start the computer in Safe mode by hitting F8 at bootup. Logon as
administrator.

Start/run regsvr32 regwizc.dll
Then start/run regsvr32 licdll.dll

Retry starting normally. If this doesn't help try these steps (also from
Safe mode):

Start/run regedit. Delete the following keys:

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\Providers
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-20\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\Providers

Exit the registry editor, restart normally.
