Windows pop-up in Outook

We use Outlook, not Outlook express, for home e-mail. Whenever we download
new e-mail, we get a Windows pop-up (at least twice, in fact) saying "There
is no disk in the drive. How do we get rid of that recurring message.

Hi -

This is a group to support Outlook from the Office group of programs.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and is a quite different
program, despite its similar name..

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
Outlook Express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.outlookexpress.mac for OE for Macintosh

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).

If you're accessing the Microsoft newsgroups through the MS Product Support
Services Community Newsgroups web interface, click
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/default.asp?icp=InternetExplorer
to get to the Internet Explorer groups, then click the plus sign next to
your version of IE to see the link to the Outlook Express group for that
version number.

A good website for information on OE is:

I dunno what Lanwrench was thinking? Or maybe I'm missing something? This
appears to be an Outlook issue as you stated "not Outlook express" (sic)
though I doubt it's just an Outlook issue and rather a system wide problem.

The questions resolution can be all sorts of things from extra drives being
seen as HDD0 by accident (or even design) and so the easiest way to fix it
is usually this:

http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/Pub0009/LPMArticle.asp?ID=593 from Greg
Chapman, MVP...

Note that that doesn't actually fix anything, it just kills the error
message. To really fix the problem you'd have to see what your disks were
seen as and if one's listed as the first when it shouldn't be you'd need to
address that issue.

Thanks, we'll try to give it a try, and yes, you're right, we do use Outlook
and not Express.

LOL I'll have you know I re-read that post about 10 times JUST to make sure
because it's not often that you mis-read posts from my observation. I
figured I'd make DARN sure that I was at least reading it as it seemed to be
to me before posting anything to it. And if I had a nickel for every time
I'd mis-read a post? Wow... I'd have a lot of nickels. Truthfully I'm
Office/Outlook incompetent and lurk in here mostly to learn (and steal the
off-topic posts that belong elsewhere once in a while) and watch all of you
people go at it. It's just too many buttons and options for me... Anyhow,
hopefully that fixes it up for them... Often a drive, sometimes even a USB
thumbdrive, will get swapped over for no real reason (that I can fathom) to
HDD0 instead of the root drive being HDD0 any longer... I expect that this
would be more often seen when message stores are moved around as well. It
gives me something to play with, I've seen quite a few similar threads.
Maybe I'll dig into it one of these days and post the findings. Now to find
the time...

Heck, me too.
