Hi,

This has been happening for a while now. When my computer
boots up, after I log on, when all my startup
applications are loading, i click on the start button and
click anything (for example "connect to" and it just sits
for 30 seconds or so. To my knowledge I haven't added
anything that causes this, and i run my virus checker
twice a week, and it hasn't picked up anything. So why is
this happening? If you want any more information, i'll be
glad to post it.

Kevin

Norton has been known to cause this. Try disabling your network card and see
if it goes away. I'm 90% sure it will.

I've uninstalled norton and switched to a different virus
checker, i was thinking norton may have caused it,
however it did not fix the problem. After I disable my
network card, how do i connect to my lan?

Having the network is one of the things that has been known to cause that
problem. Disabling it is just a test to see if you don't get the delay. If
you disable the network card and don't get the delay, then we know that the
problem is related to that. If you still get the delay, then we known it's
not related to the network card. If you are actually using your network
card, then we'll go from there.

Another possible problem is another application that's starting. Load up
"msconfig", and click the "Startup" tab. Tell me what you see there. Also,
click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide all Microsoft services" and tell
me what you see. We'll go from there.
