I have troubleshooted my problem, and I can only get
windows2000 professional to open up in Safe Mode with
Networking, which is how I'm on the group.

Anyway, my problem is after it goes through the first
Windows2000 start up screen, the screen turns black, I
have hooked my monitor up to other computers and it works
fine, and my friend says it happened when she was trying
to change my screen resolution back to its normal size
from 800x600.

Any tips on how to get this fixed so I can use my computer
normally?

While in Safe Mode, change the resolution to 640 x 480
pixels. This should enable you to boot normally. You can
then test the various resolution options to see which one
works.

Alright that didn't seem to work, although I did try it
twice. Any other ideas?

You did not say what happened when you rebooted into
normal mode. ???

If your screen is still black then you have to establish if
your machine has crashed or if it is running with an
incorrect display setting. The following tests will give
you an indication, but only if carried out verbatim:

1. Press CapsLock repeatedly. Does the CapsLock light
blink on and off? If it does not then your machine has
crashed.

2. Press these keys, in this sequence:
Esc
Ctrl+Shift+Esc
Alt+F
N
cmd
Enter
Alt+Enter
The sequence should give you a full-screen Command
Prompt. Can you see anything on your screen?
If you can't, do this:
- Insert a floppy disk into your floppy disk drive.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Type dir A: and press Enter
Does the floppy disk spin? If it does then your machine
has not crashed.
