Windows Movie Maker

I have created a movie from my digital mini DV video handycam.
Under the "Finish Movie" section of WMM I select save to CD but I get the
message,
"A recordable CD was not detected. Would you like to save your movie on your
computer hard disk drive instead?"
I have tried using a DV-R and CD-R.

I created the movie using PAL format.
Should I have selected a different format.
I would like to view the movie on my normal DVD player connected to my TV.

Can anyone help me with this?

Hey tina, instead of saving the movie file to a recordable CD, save it to
your computer. Make sure that you have a DVD-RW Drive in your computer, or
you will not be able to create a DVD. If you do have one, save the movie file
to your computer into your preferred folder. The saving process could take a
little while depending on the file size. Once that is finished insert a DVD-
RW compatable disk, it should say whether it is or not on the container that
you bought the DVD's in. Go to the folder that that you saved the movie in
and right-click on the file and a selection on the toolbar should say send
to. Click on that, and find where it should say DVD-RW Drive E: or D:. Then
go to My Computer and find the icon for that drive and click on it, and your
movie file should be in there. If it is then at the top left of the window it
should say Write These Files To Disk. Click that, and when it is finished
your DVD should work. Email me back if it doesn't work, even though it should.

Thanks Black Fire.

I tried your suggestion but when I right click on the created movie file, I
do not get the opportunity to send it drive "D" or "E". My drive "D" is a DVD
burner.

I do however, get an option to select a DVD burner software package called
"Record Now" by Sonic. I tried selecting this but it sends the file as a data
file to the software which you then select a Burn to disc icon. When this is
burnt to disc it appears to be saved as a data file which cannot be
recognised by my DVD player.

Please help.

Thanks.

Hey again Tina, I see that you nsaid that you have the sonic program, but in
order for this alternate way to work you need to have bought the actual
version of Sonic. Not the one that comes with your computer. If you do, then
go to where iit says video, and click on it. It should then give you the
choice to "Create a Video-DVD." Click on that and follow the steps that Sonic
gives you, and that way should work. Email me back if it doesn't. When I
tried doing that it worked so hopefully it will work for you, remember you
should have the purchased version of Sonic.
