Windows Movie Maker opens and then shuts down

I purchased my notebook with WinXP Professional with SP2 last May. For some
inexplicable reason, when I now start Windows Movie Maker, within ten seconds
or so I get a message that says Windows Movie Maker experiencef a problem,
and then shuts down. I did not install any new software within the last
couple months, nor did I install any new hardware. My system is protected
with anti-virus and anti-spam software.

I tried to reinstall Windows Movie Maker, but there is no option to
reinstall the application from Add/Remove Programs or form Microsoft Updates.

How do I reinstall or repair Windows Movie Maker?

Some users have reported problems
after installing IE7. If this applies to your
situation ...uninstalling IE7 may be worth
a try.

My WMM does the exact same thing, and it's driving me INSANE with 1 exception:

- Mine will only let me add about 5-6 frames, if EVEN that much, before it
decides to crash. There are NO error messages, no warnings, no "WMM has
experienced a problem". It shuts down if I try to add anything else to a
movie. I am only able to make movies that are about 1-1:30 long, and if I
record a video, It can only be 10 minutes. However, this is not the case
anymore. WMM is ceasing to work. I have tried installing WMM2 via the updates
page and even downloads.com. Not working, nor happening. Please assist. T_T
