Windows Movie Maker DV-AVI

terry

When trying to record using DV-AVI, frames are skipped and
the audio stutters. Any other mode and viewing in the
preview screen is ok. Only when I start recording in DV-
AVI I seem to get this problem. I have a P4 2GHz, plenty
of ram and 7200 rpm HDD. Can anyone please help?

You may have plenty of RAM but what other programs are running in the
background when you're trying to export the DVI?

Shutdown everything that's not needed... antivirus running in realtime is a
common one to cause frame skipping... some antivirus softwares have a
'snooze' mode so that you do not forget to turn it back on when the export
is finished.
