When I reinstalled XP on a new hard drive, I misspelled
my email address. I keep getting this anoying pop up
asking me to verify my email address. I can find no way
to correct the misspelling or to get rid of Windows
Messenger. I don't use it any don't want it. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.

Greetings Charles,

You'll need to change your Passport e-mail address in order to correct this. However, if you
don't use Messenger, there's no need to correct it, just click the Start Button, then click
the Control Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select your account name,
and then on the left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network
Passwords'. In the window that opens, click the Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry and click
'Remove'. After this, it will no longer even attempt to sign-in and won't bother you again.
