How do I get rid of Messenger completely from my
computer? I don't use it, and I can't get it to quit
sending annoying notices of upgrades. I use XP.
Thanks!

Close Windows Messenger and all programs that are linked
to it ... e.g. Outlook Express

- Go to START -----> RUN

- Type the following code in the run dialog box, or
better copy and paste the text from here:

"RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%
\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove"

You can include the quotation marks if you want or leave
them out.

- Confirm by clicking OK and the program will be removed.

Once you reboot, the computer will prompt you to clean up
files associated with Windows Messenger. Click YES and
you are done.
