Actually, go to , start, control pannel, add remove programs. but... go to
the add remove windows componets box on the left and click on it. you will
see a list including messenger. uncheck the box, click next and proceed with
instructions.

Hi,

That will work for one of two windows messenger that is there. The other is
Hidden. You will need to first go to folder options>View> select show
hidden files and folder. Then go to the C:\windows\inf folder, find the
sysoc.inf file, double click it, it will open in notepad. Search for a
"msmsgs=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,hide,7" just delete the hide then save
it and close it. Go back to add/remove programs, add/remove windows
componets. You should see another instance of windows messenger. Uncheck
it, then next. that will get rid of it. You can then also delete the
messenger folder in Program Files.

Yes that will work also but I myself did that and it caused me to have quite
a few errors when running msn. I ended up downloading the newest version and
then uninstalling and it took everything away without an error.
