Windows Media player "very dark"?

Hi,

When I play any video the windows media player's video is so dark that is
cannot be viewed. It is just like an encrypted video that is protected. All
video files can not be played right, including my own avi from camcorder.
However, all video can be played in my other computer.

I download and install WMP_11 again then the video viewing is fine. I was
so happy that I thought the problem resolved. However, after reboot, the
problem comes back that no video can be played (viewable).

Anybody might know what is wrong with my computer? (xp sp2)

Thanks
Albert

No. But if you don't find out, GammaPanel is a viable work around. It is a
small program, sits in the tray, that allows you to change the brightness,
gamma, color, contrast of the video display and save those settings as a
profile. Moreover, one can set hot keys to use a specific profile.

In my case, I could already do that (except hot keys) via video card
software but it was a clunky PITA to do so. GammaPanel is much, much
better. I use it to toggle between my normal video settings and those for a
game that is exceedingly dark and murky when using normal settings.

GammaPanel - no install, about 100KB
