Windows Media Player stops after 12 seconds

I have this problem that my Windows Media Player (9.0)
stops after 11-12 seconds on some files. Always the same movies.
Just the video, the sound continues ok. I'ts always mpg-files.
But other mpg-files or video-files works ok.
I have XP and newest update of WMP 9.0.
Have tried all sizes of screen (full, small) but the picture freezes
after 12 seconds.
Any sugestions what the problem can be?

Same here, I never got an answer. Mine started after I deleted the
shmedia.dll reg key.

I had the same problem on my XP system and found it was the Divx codec.
Seems certain older codecs will play fine for a few seconds then the screen
will freeze with the audio still working. This happened when the video was
in a newer Divx codec than I had installed on my computer. Try updating the
Divx codec to the latest version (www.divx.com) and see if it fixes your
problem.

Later,
Dave
