Windows media player 9 playlist question

Hi

I just noticed that every time I go to view a video in Windows Media player
9 the now playing information at the bottom of the screen shows:

playlist (number)

and the number increases by one with every file I play. I don't keep any
playlists and I can't find where to clear this feature or turn it off all
together. I can access playlists and delete them, but this playlist counter
is a mystery to me. It's at 122 and counting, so it hasn't been on for that
long.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

I don't want to upgrade to WM10 right now, I had it for a short time but my
video codecs and subtitles didn't work properly, so I went back to version
9.

This might be a little glitch, in that I can't ever remember a new playlist
being created with every file played. Oddly, when I go into playlists, they
don't appear, except for the now playing file.
