Windows Media Automatically Uploads Music

Peter

Heres my problem. I have Windows XP Home Edition,
and whenever I put a cd in the computer promts a box that
asks what program I want to use to view the material.
This wasn't a problem, I normally cancel it and go about
my bussiness, but one time I accidentally clicked "Use
this program every time". Now every time I insert an
audio CD the computer starts to upload music via Windows
Media Player. How can I get the computer to not upload
music automatically, and if possible, how can I get the
computer not to promt the dialouge box.
Thank you

Open Windows Explorer, go to your CD-ROM drive, right click, select
properties, go to the AutoPlay tab, select the action you desire it to take
or select "Prompt me each time to choose an action," click apply and ok.

Not sure what you mean by upload. This usually means you are sending files
via the internet "up to" a web server. Uploading and downloading are terms
used to described the transfering of files between different computers.
Playing a cd or installing software is completely different from uploading
or downloading.
If you mean when you put a cd in it starts to play and you don't want it to,
then just right click on the cd drive in explorer, properties, autoplay tab,
set as you like.
