windows me

my computer will start to boot(desktop pic comes up but then screen freezes up with the hour glass next to the cursor.any suggestions. thanks jay
 
This is a Windows 2000 newsgroup, but I would run CheckDisk on the computer, try
booting into Safe Mode to see if it helps, and maybe use msconfig to disable startup
programs to see if it helps. If it does you could add the start up programs in one at
a time until you found the problem and then either remove it or reinstall it. ---
