can anyone tell me how to get windows mail to delete old/unwanted e-mail
addresses appearing in the "to:" line. For example if I put the letter "c"
into the "to:" line numerous e-mail addresses pop-up beginning with "c"
I need to delete these permanently and stop them appearing whenever I create
a new e-mail etc.

Go into 'contacts' and delete unwated addresses from there.

Hi, have tried that and it only deletes contacts, it does not dekete e-mail
addresses that are in windows mail memory.

If those old addresses are not in your contacts, they may be in the
auto-complete list. To edit that list:
