Keep getting a question about whether I want to compress emails as i exit
windows mail. Why? and what happens if I do compress them? How will it affect
the emails?
 
That's not exactly what it says... it doesn't do anything to the messages.
What it does is removed the space taken by deleted items in the message
database.
It doesn't affect your messages. Click OK.
