Windows mail Stationary

When I changed over to windows mail Imported along with many things my
stationary. One item I cant do without is my footer showing cthe usual "if
you recieved this email in error" and all my business contact details
including my VAT number. I have by mistake deleted it and want to create a
new footer template so with 1 click i can go to it. I have spent hours trying
to create a new stationary or edit an existing one. with no luck.

The repetative warning message comes up "this file does not have an
association with it to perform this action. Create an association in the set
association control panel.

Does anyone know where this is and how to set it. please help if you can.

Add it as a Signature?
Tools>Options>Signature, complete the details, and the Advanced settings, if
you wish to set it to particular accounts, add the Insert Signature button
to the new mail window, or set it to auto add to all mail.

Thanks Steve, it solves the problem by bypassing it, that's great but microsoft has got to look at making sure the edit and create new features work. thanks once again for your help. Colin

I think a Signature will do what you want..
Tools - Options - Signatures

But to create Stationery, go to Tools - Options - Compose
click on "Create New" and follow the wizard.

The problem is ~Dave, you do that and you finish, without it allowing you to put anything in the stationary you have created, and if you go to edit, it refused to let you. try it and let me know if it happens to you?

Colin,
I am able to follow the wizard, and add whatever I want and save the
stationery. And when I click on "Select" and on "Edit", it opens Editpad
Lite, which I use as my HTML editor. I suspect you do not have a default
HTML editor set in Internet Options.
You can access this in a couple of ways...
in Internet Explorer, Tools - Internet Options - Programs
or, Start - Control Panel - Internet Options - Programs

For HTML Editing, select an editor... it can be MS Word or Notepad, or some
other text editor.
