I think you'd best find out what this "reset" was all about first, Sara. If
the machine's still under Warranty or Service Contract, contact Tech
Support. If not, it might be best take the machine to a local, reputable
and independent (i.e., not BigBoxStoreUSA or Geek Squad) computer repair
shop.

My computer reset itself......not sure how or why. I know have a folder on
my desktop that is the "old" version of my vista windows operating system.
How do I locate all of my old emails from my "old" vista operating
system/windows mail in this folder?
I basically was a moron not backing up files and creating recovery discs. I
have learned now.
I know I still have everything on this computer. The hard part is finding
it now.
I have since found all of my pictures that were on the old version......

When Vista is reinstalled, your old data is saved in a folder called
Windows.old. Open that folder, and navigate to
Users\YourName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Local Folders.
You will see your old mail folders there.
You can also have your new Windows Mail import the old messages
from that location: File, Import, Messages, Microsoft Windows Mail 7.

Incidentally, your computer is configured for the Pacific time zone,
which is wrong for your location.
