I transfer a lot of messages off of my old computer. I'm wanting to put them
in a folder I created in my mail box. When I bring all them up and want to
transfer them I go into Computer and can't find the folder I created. I go
into Windows Mail folder and can't find the local folder. I want to click
save as and then click in the folder and click save. Any help Thanks

If you have transfered then to an other computer (OS ?) make sure the
folder is not hidden.
also in command line in dos you can specify one of the messages name
and do search
at the dos prompt enter cd\
you should be at the c: \
dir (message ...first four letters of the message followed by *.*
so it should read: <dir abcd*.* /s> in this example abcd should
be replaced with one of the message files name you transfered.

I made the new folder on this new computer with Vista in the Local Folders.
So is the local folder in Vista Windows Mail hidden? Thanks

It likely won't do you any good to just copy the files over.
You need to export them from the old email client into a format that can be
imported into Windows Mail.

I emailed them to my self and brought them into my new computer. I can open
the email and click on attachments and bring up the list. Then I click on
one of them and then click open. I can read them. Thanks

Open the email program in your old computer>file>export messages>follow
instructions to put them in a file on your desktop.

Copy that file to memory stick, cd, etc

Copy that to the desktop on th new comp.

Open email program there>file>import messages>done

I ma am on a computer set with the Family folder up in the top left hand
corner. When I click on the folder and select to transfer it wants to bring
it from a folder called C;Users/user. I can't change this. What have I done
wrong. I see the Family document folder I setup but it won't show it when I
click to import. Thanks
