windows mail dowload error

I am getting this error evrey time i use windows mail. i would be very
grateful for any help.

Header download for the '[Google Mail]' folder did not complete. Could not
select '[Google Mail]' on the IMAP server. You might try refreshing your
folder list to synchronize with the IMAP server. Account: 'imap.gmail.com',
Server: 'imap.gmail.com', Protocol: IMAP, Server Response: 'Unknown Mailbox:
[Google Mail] (Failure)', Port: 993, Secure(SSL): Yes, Error Number:
0x800CCCD2

You might have to wait longer for an answer than other people who come to
this newsgroup with Windows Mail problems since this newsgroup is short on
IMAP experts.
 
is there no resolution to this problem though? how long has the problem
happened for? is it googles problem or
microsofts?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

It's a Google problem. I have an IMAP account with AOL which never
gets an error.

Its nothing to do with that report, otherwise i wouldn't be getting the same
error as the others in this forum which date back to May. Also it wasn't
when google mail was down, because gmail POP3 worked fine, as did the web
mail. Also its only this [Googlemail] problem because i could still download
all my emails, its just this root thats knackered.
