Windows Mail attachments

Hi
Having trouble opening Word doc files attached to emails - I've located the
Set Associations panel, but can't configure it to work with my email account.
I can open .pdf files, .mht files and .jpg files and until today .wmv files
- now the .wmv files won't open either. The .doc files give an error
message - "This file does not have a program associated with it for
performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations
control panel" (easier said than done)!!
As of today, when I try to open the .wmv file I receive variously two
different error messages, either - "The command failed to execute" (which is
rather obvious!) or most often that the file can't be located in the
temporary internet folder.
Any help would be appreciated

..doc files require Microsoft Office Word Viewer to read the attachment.
Google it.
I have 2003 version. It's free.

Save the attachment first, then open the saved file outside of Windows Mail.
