On my computer i currently have the log on dialog box that requires you to
type in the username and password. I want to change it to the welcome
screen. yet every time i try to check the welcome screen box in
Start->Control Panel->Users->Change how users long on or off and the click
apply the box dont stay checked. Is there anyway to correct this without
reinstalling windows. The account i was using has admin privs and has SP2
installed. Is there a registry key that i can change to fix this since i
have worked with the registry before and do know my way around it.

What type of computer do you have? Are you running any software that
disables the Welcome Screen? Examples of this would be the IBM Thinkpad
fingerprint ID, pcAnywhere, if you connect to a Novell network, or if
the computer is a member of a domain.
