Hello I have created a new account and shutdown the computer so that I could
logon to computer with my new user screen name and password, however when I
reboot the computer it goes directly to my desktop. But, when I log off I
can then enter my password.

Start
Run
Type "control userpasswords2" without the quotes
Press Enter or click Okay
Under the Users tab click the box to force users to type a username and
password to use the computer

Hi Jessica,

Try this, go to the Control Panel and click User Accounts, under the pick a
task heading click ' change the way users log on and log off ', tick use the
Welcome screen and Use Fast User Switching and finally click the apply
options button.

Let me know if that helps ?

Kind Regards
