Windows Login

I had Windows ME, and I got windows XP. I choose to do
an upgrade when I put the XP into the computer. After
the installation completed the computer restarted and it
went to the windows login screen. But, when I tried to
put in my old login information it didnt work. I've
tried everything: using old username and password, tried
username "guest", tried username "admin"
and "administrator", and I've tried them all with no
password, and with my old login password. What can I do
to get into my computer? or atleast get back to windows
ME (there are a lot of files on my computer that I need
to save).

Thanks to anyone for reading this
(and hopefully helping me out)

Tim

Windows XP Pro:
at the login screen, press CTRL-ALT-DELTE twice and log
in as administrator without password. then go to user
accounts in the control panel and create a user account
for yourself and make it a member of the administrator
group.
Windows Xp Home:
Start PC in safe mode and logon as administrator without
password, follow the same steps to create a user account
for yourself as described above.
