windows log in problem

I don't like the fact that when I switch the PC on it faffs about then gives
me the choice of which user to log onto.

There is only me so I have to click that before it proceeds making it a two
stage process.

It didn't used to be like that and you should be able to boot straight into
the desktop if you want

Can anyone tell me how sort it so pc just boots up as I am the only user

Best regards,

John

Sorry, but you're wrong. Removing the password isn't sufficient.

John, go to Start | Run, type "control userpasswords2" Select the account
you want to logon to automatically. Then uncheck the box "Users must enter a
user name and password to use this computer."

Or do the same thing with TweakUI.

Use the "control userpasswords2" method as described near the bottom of the
following KB article.
