Greetings All,

I'm having an issue with Windows Live Toolbar installation whereby whenever
I execute the program I recieve the message "The installer has encountered an
unexpected error attempting to initialise this package. The error code is 0."
I previous made changes to my system by removing the following in the
following order in order to update MSN Search Toolbar With MSN Desktop Search
to Windows Live Toolbar with Windows Desktop Search:

Games Add-In For MSN Search Toolbar
Phishing Filter Add-In For MSN Search Toolbar
Weather Add-In For MSN Search Toolbar
MSN Search Toolbar With Windows Desktop Search

All uninstalled successfully and I rebooted my machine between installation
to update the Registry and suchlike. At first I thought that the installation
package may be corrupt and therefore causing an error therefore I downloaded
it once again and yet again the error appeared. Of course this could be an
error with the package but it installed successfully on my fathers laptop.
I'm using Windows XP Professional With Service Pack 2. My system is up to
date with the latest hotfixes and updated, my system is free of spyware,
adware and suchlike and I had previously scanned my system for Viruses,
Trojan Horses and generic malware and my system is clean.

I use ESET NOD32 Anti-Virus System for Ant-Virus Protection and Webroot Spy
Sweeper 5.0.5. for Anti-Spyware protection, these programs are both up to
date with real-time scanning enabled and their databases are current as of
today.

Greetings All,

A resolution to my issue has been found and although it's somewhat laughable
it's also rather irritating. When I download files I rename them, therefore
they look better organised and I can understand exactly what the program is
name-wise; useful for listing files and suchlike. Apparently the reason I was
recieving the error was because of the fact that I'd renamed the stub
installation file to "Microsoft Windows Live Toolbar" from the original
"WLToolbarSetup_en" which is the default filename for the file upon download.
I renamed the file to the above and installation completed successfully. I
don't know why this is the case but I certainly found it unusual. Certainly
this didn't affect the installation of Windows Live Toolbar Add-Ins which I
installed afterwards, and I had renamed those also, either way, no issue.
