I've noticed in the last few days that whenever I reply to an email or
forward an email in Windows Live Hotmail (new version OR classic), the
original text is in a solid block of text without line breaks or indentation.
This makes it extremely hard to read the text. All the instructions I've
found online for how to get it to indent appear to only apply to older
versions and refer to sections of "Options" that are no longer there.

How can I get the text to be formatted correctly?

Clear,

In IE or Outlook Express? If IE, contact Hotmail Support. If IE, TOOLS | OPTIONS | SEND
tab

Click either the HTML or Plain Text buttons & you'll see the indentation feature there

It is in IE and Opera (I usually use Opera, but when I ran into this problem
I tried going to hotmail.com with IE and had the same problem). I don't
bother with a mail client.

I am not seeing a "Tools" option on the Hotmail page anywhere. There is, of
course, a "Tools" option in IE, but that just leads me to Internet Options,
which does not have a Send tab.

I know about the indentation feature in Hotmail, but that's not what I'm
talking about. You use that Indent to indent text in emails you are editing.
I'm talking about how the text in forwards or replies is not formatted
correctly in the body of the email when you receive it.
