Hi , I know its no help but I have the exact same thing
happening ... happened about 12 hours ago and I have
tried all sorts to fix it with no luck... I am suspicous
it could be a new virus type.
I have reinstalled xp pro, reistalled all updates as well
as IE and still no luck... I hope someone has an answer..
this could get a lot of people in trouble.

What did you do just prior to this happening?

i did not do anything particular before it happenned.
it is hell

Try a system restore back to before the prob started?

Just get latest version of ad aware and get the update
after installing it.

I have fixed mine with it
