Hi, I have had the Outlook 2003 with both office service packs install and
the windows installer comes up whenever I check for mail. It says that
windows is preparing to install. How can I stop this and why is it doing it?

Thank you

Pike

I "HAD" the same problem. I have no idea "WHY" it is doing that, but in a
previous posting a user gave advice on "repairing" Outlook. I did and it
worked, NO MORE "Windows Installer"... 'Preparing to Install' messages.
Just go to the control panel, choose "ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS", then select the
"REPAIR" button and follow the prompts. After repairing Outlook it runs fine
with no annoying messages at start up or when receiving messages. I don't
know who the previous "reply" was from, but I'm grateful!
