Windows installer problem

I installed the windows installer, and after that i tried to install another
msi, then a message popups " The windows installer service could not be
accessed, blah blah..", what may be the reason? any help will be appreciated.

Is this XP embedded product related question?

If not but your computer is running XP OS, please post the question to microsoft.public.windowsxp.general newsgroup.

PS. If you are running XP SP2, please check Microsoft knowledge base. there was some QFEs (updates) issued to fix MSI problems on
SP2 specifically.

Ok. Then could you give us more details about your current image?
For example, does the image include "Windows Installer Service" component? Does the service up and running properly at run time?

Any errors in FBALog.txt?
