Windows install hangs on Setup is starting windows

This problem was driving me crazy and I started doing research on it
and the solutions run the gamut of possibilities. Windows 2000 and xp
will do this for MANY # OF REASONS!!!

The solutions I have found for this problem are vast in range for some
reason it tends to happen w/ SATA drives, but can also be linked to not
only drivers, but other hardware and software issues.

Problem: You're installing windows and get to the part of windows setup
where down in the left hand corner text says: "Setup is starting
windows". And the computer hangs....or restarts.
Infuriating I know.

Solution: Check hardware first...for me this was merely an issue of one
ram stick being bad. Others report faulty mobo, SATA drives, etc.
They claim when RMA'd the solution was found...great...now for the rest
of you...
Second thing to look at is drivers if the drivers have all been updated
from the internet great then look back at hardware...

Be sure to move cards around the issue may be as simple as a dead pci
slot jamming things up or again a bad ram stick.
