Anyone used the new Windows HomeServer OS and how well it plays with Vista
machine attached. I received my demo CD's and was going to install on an
older machine no longer used.

I run Windows Home Server here with two Vista computers and one XP
computer. It runs just fine with the bunch of them.

Thanks Ken,

Good, I have 3 XP Pro machines and 1 Vista Home Premium at the office. I
have one old 766mz machine I was going to use, but may have to get a newer
more powerful machine along with larger hard drives. Nice thing, machines
are inexpensive these days.

Heh, and I thought you were an anti-RAID fascist luddite..? ;)

Windows Server 2008 , running WS 2003 IIS and OpenFiler on Hyper-V and
dual-booting with VMware ESXi on flash drive on internal USB port in HP
ProLiant quad-core Opteron server, here.

Larger hard drives are certainly important, but Windows Home Server
doesn't really require a very powerful machine. I can't remember my
exact configuration, but it's around a 1GHZ processor with 512MB of
RAM.

Running it here on a P4 1.8 with 1 gig ram and 2 500 gig HD's (kind of
overkill system) with 6 computers hooked to it, 3 xp, 3 Vista machines. Runs
fantastic.. No problems.. Backs up everything every night and handles all of
my extra storage needs in addition to being my video and audio server for
all computers in the house.. Best investment I ever made..
