windows freezing

For several weeks I've been having a problem with my Windows XP. I started
getting the "blue screen of death" and a Kernel Data Inpage error. It then
wouldn't reboot. I have done a complete re-install of Windows, including
wiping the hard drive clean, but it's still happening. I've run chkdsk.
Still happens. Sometimes it's running along fine for hours, other times it
will run for five minutes then freeze up and show me the blue screen. I'm
fearing that there is a physical problem with the hard drive. But I thought
running chkdsk would take care of that in that it would recognize the bad
parts and avoid them. Any help and advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

If you have formated and reloaded then it looks like it could be a hardware
issue Ram,motherboard or display card,What is the stop error that you are
receiving this would tell me more.

sounds like a problem with the ram sticks inside or a cpu fan issue due to
the inconsistancy of it occuring.

i had a similar problem that turned out something to be with the m/b fan
controller circuitry. easily fixed by hard-wiring the fan into power.

Is this the error: 0x0000007A: KERNEL_DATA_INPAGE_ERROR?
If see see this link: http://aumha.org/win5/kbestop.htm, and click on
that error in the left hand column for troubleshooting information.

Test the memory with memtest86+, http://www.memtest.org/, to start with.

Time to test if your ram is A-OK.
